President's Message
The new Rule Book is now available on our website. You can view and print this online at www.mountsterlingcc.com If you do not have access to a computer, please let us know and we can print you a copy. Beginning September 1st the newsletter and calendar of events will only be available on our web page or a copy can be obtained from the clubhouse or pro shop. If you still need a newsletter mailed, please let us know. 498-3020
New member certificates have been issued and certificate holders may now pick up these at the pro shop.
The new flooring has been installed in the living room at the clubhouse. Thanks to all the generous donors.
We have made a change to the guest day policy regarding the swimming pool. Instead of having 4 guest days throughout the summer, each member will get 6 passes to bring a guest to the pool. It can be the same person 6 times or 6 different people. The same guest cannot attend more than 6 times. We ask that you will check in at the pro shop when you bring a guest and this will be recorded. It is the same process for bringing in town guest to the golf course. We hope this makes your summer more flexible as it relates to bringing guest to the pool.
This is the busiest season for the club, so come out and enjoy all the amenities that we have to offer. I look forward to everyone enjoying the upcoming social and golfing events.

Restaurant Notes
Kathy Montgomery, Food and Beverage Manager
Thanks to all members who have visited us at the Clubhouse Restaurant this past month.
We welcome new members: Jeff & Melissa Amburgey, John & Tonia Toy, Will & Lynn Peck and Ryan & Amanda Crockett.
The member/member golf outing is Friday, Saturday and Sunday. June 26-28
The Luau is Saturday night at the pool. Time: 8:00PM $10.00 per person which includes a festive appetizer assortment. Casual dress, luau themed if you prefer. Are you limbo ready? Featuring member Bo Queen’s band.
Please note some of the featured nightly dinner specials on your restaurant calendar of events. The clubhouse is open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday, offering daily lunch specials (wraps, sandwiches and salads). We can always have your lunch prepared and waiting for you, if you want to call in your order. If there is no function on Saturday evening, the restaurant will be closed. The pool window will be open every Saturday day. (Unless stormy weather)
The first Wednesday of each month, (July 1), we will have member bartenders, this month is Brandon Wells, Jason McVey and Mike May and we will be offering $1.00 hamburgers. Dine in only. Also, each member will be entered into a drawing for a $100.00 giveaway. At the end of the evening, a name will be drawn. To win you must have been at the club on that evening and purchased food or beverage. If the name drawn has not participated that evening, then the monies are carried over to the next month with another $100 added on the first Wednesday of each month. Same procedure. Carryover (now $200) will continue until the end of the year and a name will be drawn at the President’s reception. The only names that will be entered then are the Wednesday night participants. Hopefully someone will win each month! No winner in June -the name drawn was Hubert Ware and unfortunately he was not here on that evening. A special thanks to our member bartenders in June, Chris Peck and Joel Lane. They donated their gratuities of $88.00 towards the club fundraiser.
When anyone is playing golf and wants lunch, you may call in and pick up your food at the bar or the pool window. Storing this number in your phone would be a great idea! 498-3020

Golf Course News
Nick Auxier, Superintendent
The hot and dry weather has finally found its way to Kentucky this week. The high temperatures have started to dry the course out some. Greens and fairways are really starting to firm up. The Bermuda is looking better with only a few holes still struggling to fill in. The maintenance crew has been working hard preparing for the upcoming Member/Member tournament and the golf course is in great shape. We have completed a few more sod projects in the past couple of weeks. We installed bent grass on the approach areas on number 7 and 16. These areas should be ready for play in the next week or so. Until then please do not play from these areas.
Again I’d like to remind all golfers to please obey the cart rules by exiting the fairways at the blue stakes, keeping the carts out of the no mow areas and away from the greens. I hope everyone is planning on enjoying the activities this weekend and in the weeks to come.
Nick
